We are delighted to be able to offer Forest School on Monday mornings. We take a group of 6 children to Ashtead Common and work with them to experience the natural environment, begin to develop basic skills in tool use, identify flora and fauna and to be motivated and confident in exploring the natural world around them.
We change groups each term and our aim is to be able to invite each child over the course of their time at St Giles Playgroup.
We like to both look at her forest school photos on tapestry and she can tell me what was happening in each photo. She says she was paddling in the stream and it was really fun. She also enjoys having her snack and drink outside. When we go out as a family for a walk Imogen enjoys exploring and talking about nature and I think that Forest School sessions have helped develop her curiosity and confidence.

She has really enjoyed playing hide and seek in the forest, paddling in the stream, collecting flora and fauna and looking at mini beasts.
